I've been wanting to make a succulent terrarium for a while now, and it was a beautiful day to garden!
Supplies Used
- A variety of succulents (I used three, but the number of plants you'll need will depend on the size of the container you want to use).
- Decorative stones
- Cactus, palm and citrus soil
- A glass container
- Charcoal
- Spade (optional...depends how dirty you're willing to get)
Instructions
- Succulent terrariums!
- I couldn't decide which succulents I wanted to use, so I might have over done it. But can you blame me? They're so cute!
- So much texture
- First things first, add a layer of rocks to the container to create the base of the drainage system.
- Add a layer of charcoal. The charcoal will help generate air filtration within the terrarium.
- Add a layer of soil on top of the charcoal.
- Loosen the root soil of the succulents before planting them in the container.
- The first plant is in place! I'm going to add three since the jar is relatively small.
- Second succulent!
- All three succulents!
- Add a few more decorative rocks
- Time for water! Pour enough to just get the soil damp.
- The final products!
