Instructions
Create a colorful Turkey Napkin Ring for your big Thanksgiving dinner. It's a great project for kids using paper crafts from around the house.
1 - An easy way to form your napkin ring is to use an empty toilet paper roll. First you want to cut your roll in half. Using a ruler, measure out two equal sides and mark with a pencil. Follow your marks with a piece of masking tape so you have a nice edge to cut against. I used a utility knife but you can also use scissors to cut in half.
2 - Cut small squares out of tissue paper. They should be around 3/4" but don't need to be perfect. You can use any color combination. I decided to use orange, white and green for a Thanksgiving theme.
3 - For this next step you'll need a pencil, Elmer's glue and the tissue paper squares. Take a square and wrap it around the eraser side of the pencil. Dip it in a little glue and tack it to the roll. Repeat this process until the roll is completely covered.
4 - Get creative with different colors and patterns!
5 - Now it's time to print out the image. I scaled mine down to about 3'' tall. If you can print on thick paper or card stock, it will make your napkin ring more sturdy.
6 - Attach your turkey template onto the tissue paper using Elmer's glue. Hold into place with medium pressure until secure.
Roll up a fabric or paper napkin and slide your ring on. Enjoy!
