Selling vintage ties can be a profitable endeavor. Vintage ties seem to be in demand these days---search for them on the Internet and you will find thousands of results. Every man needs a good selection of ties, and thanks to the Internet, selling vintage ties has never been easier. If you have a box of old ties sitting in the attic, like to frequent yard sales to buy cheap ties or even if you have a supplier, you can sell vintage ties from home.

- Get the wrinkles out of your ties. An inexpensive way to do this is by using steam. Hang them in the bathroom and run a hot shower, or put them over a boiling pot of water. Alternatively, use a stream dryer or iron the tie. Cover the tie with towel when you iron it, and do not touch the iron directly to the tie.

- Store the ties by rolling them instead of hanging them up. Roll them loosely around your hand. This will prevent wrinkles from forming. Roll the ties up when you need to ship them as well.

- Search yard sales for ties. You will often find affordable ties that you can resell for much more. You can also visit flea markets and used clothes stores.

- Put the ties up for sale or auction on the Internet. There are many sites available that are well known and will make your ties accessible to a large base of customers. Take clear pictures of the ties and include them if the site that you are using accepts pictures. The pictures should show the entire tie laid out flat.

- Include as much information as you can in the title and the description. Accept as many forms of payment as you can to make buying your ties convenient for your customers. Take advantage of any selling tools that are available to you.

- Sell your ties through social networking sites. There are applications made specifically for sales that you can use on some social networking sites. You can also do your own advertising by telling all of your family, friends and colleagues about the ties.

- Sell your ties in a yard sale if they don't sell on the Internet. Put signs up around the neighborhood a few days in advance and hold the yard sale on the weekend.
